Law Degree: 
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. / L.L.B.) from a University or institute recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
Experience: 
The applicant must have minimum 3 years of continuous practice as an Advocate on the date of advertisement (23 February 2026). Experience must be certified by a Principal Judicial Officer of the District Court or a Senior Advocate of at least 10 years’ standing.
Law Clerk Inclusion:

Step 1: Complete One-Time Registration (OTR)
• Visit the official BPSC website: bpsc.bihar.gov.in or bpsconline.bihar.gov.in .
• Click on “New Registration” for One-Time Registration.
• Enter your Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
• You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile and email.
• Use the OTP to complete the registration and create your unique Registration ID & Password.
Step 2: Fill the Detailed Application Form
i) Log in using your Registration ID and Password.
ii) Click on the link: “BPSC 33rd Bihar Judicial Service Competitive Examination 2026 (Advertisement No. 12/2026)” .
iii) Fill in personal details (Father’s / Mother’s name, address, pin code).
iv) Enter educational qualification details: Name of University, Year of Passing, Marks obtained.
v) Provide Advocacy Experience: Details of practice including Bar Council enrolment number and duration of practice.
Step 3: Upload Documents
Photograph – Recent passport size (in JPEG, JPG, or PNG format), file size 10 KB to 50 KB.
Signature – In black ink (on white background), file size 10 KB to 50 KB.

1. Can I apply for BPSC Civil Judge 2026 if I am from Uttar Pradesh / Delhi?

Yes. There is no Bihar domicile requirement for general category eligibility. Candidates from any Indian state can apply. However to claim reservation benefits (SC, ST, EBC, BC, EWS), you must furnish a valid Bihar Domicile Certificate and a Caste Certificate issued in Bihar

2. I have only 2 years of legal practice plus 1 year of Law Clerk in a High Court. Am I eligible?

Yes. Experience as a Law Clerk under a Judge / Judicial Officer is counted. As long as the total period (Advocacy + Law Clerk) is minimum 3 years as of 23 February 2026

3. What is the age relaxation for SC / ST of Bihar?

Upper age limit is 40 years for SC, ST, EBC, BC, EWS categories and also for Unreserved Women candidates

4. Is the Preliminary examination just screening or does it carry marks for final merit?

The Preliminary examination is qualifying in nature. Final merit ranking is based only on the Mains Examination + Interview marks.

5. What’s the mode of the Mains exam (offline or online)?

Both the Prelims and Mains are offline (pen-and-paper mode) examinations

6. Can I submit an offline application for BPSC Civil Judge?

No. Online applications only. No offline application forms will be accepted.
