Selection Process and Examination Phases/Indian Army TES 56 Recruitment 2026

1. Shortlisting of Applications: 
The Indian Army will shortlist candidates based on their JEE Main 2026 rank and their 10+2 PCM aggregate marks. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the next stage
2. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview:
 Shortlisted candidates will be called for a 5-day SSB interview at one of the Selection Centres across India. The SSB is a comprehensive personality and aptitude assessment process. It includes:
Screening Test (Day 1): Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT).
Psychological Tests (Day 2): Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self-Description (SD).
Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks (Days 3 & 4): Group Discussions, Group Planning Exercise, Progressive Group Task, Half Group Task, Individual Obstacles, Command Task, and Lecturette.
Personal Interview (Day 4 or 5): An in-depth interview conducted by a senior SSB officer.
Conference (Day 5): A final assessment by the entire SSB board
3. Medical Examination: 
Candidates who are recommended by the SSB board will undergo a thorough medical examination at a military hospital to ensure they meet the required medical standards
4. Final Merit List: 
A final merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the SSB interview and their JEE Main rank, subject to being medically fit. Candidates are then issued a joining letter for training.
