1. Can I apply for multiple posts under the same region?
Yes, you can. However, you will need to submit separate online applications for each post you wish to apply for within a region. A separate fee will be applicable for each application (if not exempted)
2. What is the application correction window?
The SSC provides a 3-day correction window (11th to 13th May 2026) for candidates to make changes to certain fields in their application form. However, not all fields can be edited, so fill the form carefully the first time
3. Is there any age relaxation for OBC candidates?
Yes, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get a relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age limit. SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5 years
4. What is the negative marking scheme?
There is a penalty of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions
5. Is Aadhaar card mandatory for applying?
Aadhaar is preferred for authentication, but it is not strictly mandatory. Other valid ID proofs like a Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License are also accepted
6. When will the admit card be released?
The admit card for the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will be released on the official SSC regional websites a few weeks before the exam date. Candidates will be notified via SMS and email.
7. What is the minimum qualifying marks for the exam?
The minimum qualifying marks are as follows:
Unreserved (UR): 30% marks
OBC/EWS: 25% marks
Other Categories (SC/ST): 20% marks
8. What happens after I qualify for the CBT?
After passing the CBT, you will be required to upload your documents (educational certificates, category certificates, etc.) on the SSC portal for scrutiny. This is a mandatory step. Your candidature will be confirmed only after successful document verification
9. I forgot my registration password. How can I retrieve it?
On the SSC login page, click on the “Forgot Password” link. You can reset your password using your registered mobile number or email ID.
10. Can I change my exam centre after submitting the application?
No, the choice of exam centre is final once you submit your application. Choose your preferences carefully at the time of filling out the form.
